This page explains which cookies PakWork uses, why, and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Pakistan does not currently have a specific cookie law. We still tell you what we use and ask for your permission before using analytics cookies, because it is respectful and good practice, and to be ready if Pakistani data protection rules are introduced.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They help a site remember you, keep you logged in and work properly. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way, and we call them all "cookies" here.
2. How we use cookies
PakWork uses a small number of cookies. We group them in two types:
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
pakwork_sid | Essential | Keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery (CSRF). Without it the site cannot work. | Until you close the browser, or earlier if you are inactive |
pw_consent | Essential | Remembers the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask on every visit. | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics (only if you accept) | Google Analytics cookies that tell us, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they use, so we can improve PakWork. | Up to 2 years |
| Cloudflare Turnstile cookies | Security (only if turned on) | Spam protection on forms. Set by Cloudflare on the pages where the check appears. | Short (session or days) |
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell information collected by cookies.
3. Essential cookies
These are needed to provide the service you ask for, such as logging in and keeping the site secure. They do not need your consent, and they cannot be switched off in our settings. You can block them in your browser, but then parts of PakWork, like logging in, will not work.
4. Analytics cookies and your consent
If we have switched on Google Analytics, it is loaded only after you click "Accept all" on our cookie notice. If you choose "Essential only", no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful; the data is used in aggregate.
Google's own use of data is described in its privacy policy. You can also use Google's opt-out tools for Analytics.
5. How to control cookies
- On PakWork: use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to change your choice.
- In your browser: most browsers let you see, block or delete cookies from the settings menu (look for "Privacy" or "Cookies"). Deleting cookies will log you out and reset your choice.
- Do Not Track and similar signals: we do not load analytics unless you accept them, so these signals do not change what we set.
6. Changes and contact
If we add new types of cookies we will update this page and ask for your consent again where needed. For questions, email info@pakwork.pk. For how we handle personal information more generally, see our Privacy Policy.
